Energising Energy Levels - Motivation for the Last Leg of the Year

The last leg of the race is here as the end of 2020 makes its final approach and Cobra is here for you to help energise your depleted energy levels and find much-needed motivation to wrap up the year. Having endured unprecedented circumstances for almost nine (9) out of the twelve (12) months of the year, despite your most noble efforts, energy levels are starting to slip and motivation splutter. The good news is that motivation and maintaining sustainable drive is fuelling a sports car, the more you put in, the more you get out, and here’s how.

Work with Purpose

Mapping out your to-do list and setting immediate goals to achieve each day will not only help long working hours seem to fly by but will also affirm a sense of accomplishment, motivating you to tackle tomorrow's task with the same oomph. Prioritise your tasks based on your energy levels or appetite for the job and as you tick each item off your list for the day, today's accomplishments will propel you through tomorrow's jobs as you put one foot in from of the other.

Just for Today

Closing out the year’s responsibilities may seem like a tall order and in many cases, this alone is enough to hamper your drive to complete what you set out to achieve before the end of the year. Don’t allow overwhelming thoughts to stagnate your progress. Distract your default delay tactics by telling yourself, "...just for today, Ill press on". And, if the day itself seems too long, tell yourself, "...just for this hour, Ill focus on my tasks", and in doing so, an hour becomes a morning and a morning becomes a day, the days roll into a week and before you notice your holidays have begun.

Will Power is a Choice

While we are all familiar with the idea that describes how we each have the ability to change or lead the lives of our dreams, the same applies to your mood, motivation, and year-end energy levels. While of course, without adequate rest, food, water and sleep it’s inevitable that our body will fatigue but provided those basic human needs are being met, motivation is very much a mental state which we each have the ability to influence and manipulate with the power of will. While it’s easy to default to our current state of being, by digging deep, often leaving a stagnated comfort zone and driving for the best possible outcome we can achieve from a positive mindset When your year-end energy levels are low, your very own will power has enough momentum to drive you to the finish line.

Make Healthy Choices

You’ve heard it before, but we’ll say it again, healthy lifestyle choices are possibly some of the surest ways to energise diminishing energy levels and find much-needed motivation to wrap up the year. From clean eating, drinking plenty of water, getting good quality sleep, and moderate exercise or physical activity is not only healthy for your body but for your mindset too when plugging your “motivation power cable” directly into your body’s battery source.

Once the day is done, and all your tasks have been checked off your list, take a moment to decompress and disconnect from your pressed day.
